Ali Qushji علي قوشجي

Full Name: Ala al-Dīn Ali ibn Muhammed .

Arabic: علاء الدين علي بن محمد

Other Names: Ulugh Beg

Born: 1403 AD.

Died: 1474 AD.

Origin: Samarkand, Timurid Empire (now Uzbekistan).

Famous for: Astronomer and Mathematician.

Contributions: 

The founding of Sahn-ı Seman Medrese, one of the first centers for the study of various traditional Islamic sciences in the Ottoman Empire.

Ali Kuşçu was also the author of several scientific works and textbooks on astronomy.

He was part of Ulugh Beg’s team of researchers working at the Samarqand observatory and contributed towards the Zij-i-Sultani
