Ali ibn Sahl Rabban al-Tabari wrote one of the first Islamic encyclopedia of medicine titled Firdaws al-Hikmah.

In 2013 a statue of al-Tabari was revealed at the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences.

Al-Tabari left 12 books, most of them were about medicine.
